Every year, our small team strives to mark International Celiac Disease Day on May 16 in a unique, engaging, and meaningful way. This year, beyond games, food, and surprises, we wanted to create something even more special, in a truly special atmosphere. With the support of our key partner Schär and their ambassador in Bulgaria, Stanka Stoyanova from Know How to Cook, we successfully organized a celebratory May 16, 2026 event.
The event took place in the beautiful setting of Lago Pasarel – място, което посрещна нашите над 100 гости със специална украса и уютна обстановка. Пространството предлагаше всичко необходимо за един истински празник: батут, люлки, пързалки, хамаци, зони за отдих и много зеленина, където децата играеха свободно, а родителите успяваха да се насладят на атмосферата.
Cooking Class with Stanka
Под майското слънце, в зоната на нашият кулинарен клас открихме безглутеновото готвене с най-малките от 3г. до 7г., и по-големите от 8г до 16 г., а задачата? – мини пиадини с кайма, специално по рецепта на Станка от Know how to cook.
Всяко дете разполагаше с всичко необходимо за приготвянето, рецептите и най-вече – подкрепата и насоките на Станка, която показваше, разказваше и отговаряше на всякакви въпроси.
(Разкриваме и малка тайна…Станка пътува цяла нощ от Варна и специално дойде ден преди събитието, за да приготви домашния си барбекю сос, който беше част от компонентите на кулинарния клас.)
In addition to the minced meat piadine, we also prepared a gluten-free Panzanella salad with Schär ciabatta, lightly toasted on the barbecue. Together with fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, and basil, they completed the dishes served to our guests.
Special Zones
This year, we created several dedicated zones so that every guest could find their favorite space.
Our gluten-free cooking classes took place in the culinary zone, next to a dedicated area by our partners from Schär. Guests could explore the products, taste them, and receive informational materials about gluten-free living, specially created by Schär.
The lunch area се превърна в едно от най-оживените места на събитието – с вкусна скара, пържени картофки, свежи салати, два вида безглутенов хляб от Schär и разбира се – много настроение около масите. За прохладата в топлия ден се бяхме погрижили с пълни хладилници със свежи напитки и безглутенова бира, а пивките сайдери, бяха специално за нашия празник от The Good Cider.
We also made sure to include teenagers and young people, who had their own dedicated youth zone with social media activities. Together with Victoria from bezglutenka.blog, children and teenagers worked in teams, discussed what makes a video popular, and explored how social media can help make celiac disease more visible through #MakeCeliacVisible, creating their own video messages with #glutenfree. Meanwhile, parents enjoyed a cozy relaxation area, where conversations continued for hours in the peaceful natural surroundings. A dedicated information stand by the Association was also available, where guests could receive practical information, guidance, support for living with celiac disease, or simply pick up gluten-free merch.
The delicious lunch was made possible by the tireless support of our amazing volunteers—Alex Mirkov, Kristian Angelov, and Nikol Todorova—who will one day join the culinary industry. Throughout the day, they grilled, served, and assisted guests with food and drinks—always with a smile and huge dedication.

Once again, our loyal friends and partners from Maestro – gluten free bakery delighted everyone with their unique 100% gluten-free savory and sweet baked goods, which disappeared within minutes.
In addition to the unique Schär desserts enjoyed throughout the day by both children and adults, the highlight was the cakes provided by FRONERI Bulgaria Ltd.
Най-ценното за нас бяха усмивките, спокойствието и усещането за общност. Да виждаме деца, които хапват без притеснение, родители, които разговарят и споделят опит, и хора, които се чувстват напълно „на място“ – именно това е смисълът на всичко, което правим.
