AWARENESS MONTH
SHARE KNOWLEDGE, SAVE A LIFE
Celiac Awareness Month is a special time when we can come together to raise awareness about this serious autoimmune disease. On May 16th, we observe World Celiac Day, and traditionally, throughout the entire month of MAY, we emphasize the importance of early diagnosis, proper nutrition, and support for those living with celiac disease.
Celiac disease (gluten enteropathy) is a lifelong autoimmune disorder in which consuming gluten damages the small intestine and prevents the absorption of nutrients.
Unfortunately, many people are unaware of this disease and often go through years of serious health issues before receiving the correct diagnosis.
Unfortunately, many people do not understand the seriousness of maintaining a gluten-free lifestyle.
How Can We Help?
Here are a few ways you can participate in Awareness Month:
01. Share Your Knowledge with Family and Friends
Use this month to talk to your loved ones about celiac disease. Explain (once again) what it is, how to recognize the symptoms, and why it is crucial for people with celiac disease to strictly follow a gluten-free diet.
05.Support Gluten-Free Businesses
Visit a restaurant or store that offers safe gluten-free products
and praise them publicly on social
media.
This will encourage more businesses
to offer safe and diverse
options for people with celiac disease.
02. Organize an Informational Meeting or Presentation
You can organize a small meeting at school, work, or within your local community to share information about the disease and the importance of a proper diet. These small steps can make a big difference in the lives of people who have not yet been diagnosed.
If you’re uncomfortable speaking in front of people, write down the key points and share them.
03. Share on Social Media
Social media is a powerful tool for spreading awareness. Don’t forget that!
Use your profile to share articles, infographics, and personal stories about celiac disease. You can also use hashtags like #CeliacAwarenessMonth #GlutenFreeLife and #CeliacDisease to reach more people.
04. Educate at School, Kindergarten, or the Office
You can prepare a short presentation or materials to share with teachers, students, or colleagues at work. Explain why it is important for people with celiac disease to feel accepted and supported, and what it means to follow a gluten-free diet.
Why Is It Important to Get Involved?
The goal of the "Celiac Awareness Month" campaign is to educate the public about this disease and to share useful advice on diagnosis, treatment, and living with celiac disease.
Early diagnosis and proper treatment are key to preventing long-term complications that can arise from undiagnosed or improperly managed conditions.
Share, Inform, and Support!
Every small gesture matters. Let’s build a more informed and supportive community for everyone living with celiac disease. Together, we can make a difference and ensure a better future for everyone.
